Art in the Cafe - Hellen Edwards & Lindsey Cooper

Hellen Edwards & Lindsey Cooper will be coming together to display their fantastic works of art in our Cafe from 1st September - 31st October.

All pieces will be available to purchase from Garden Rooms Reception.

Hellen Edwards

Hellen Edwards focuses on drawing the industrial shoreline and rugged landscape of the North East in her textile paintings.

She aims to reveal the beauty in the collision between the natural and manufactured environment. The seductive, tactile, jewel-like colours and surfaces are intended to conjure the vitality, atmosphere and a sense of a place.

Helen attended The Northern School of Art where she completed a BTEC National Diploma in General Art & Design, specialising in Textiles in my 2nd year. She then went on to do a BA(Hons) Degree at Chelsea School of Art, specialising in printed Textiles.

Helen’s studio is now in her garden. This is where she prepares her work under the supervision of her three Miniature Schnauzers! Her work is submitted to a number of galleries & events throughout the North.

Lindsey Cooper

“I’ve been creative for as long as I can remember, drawing, painting and making things from an early age.  I studied art at college during the 1970s and became serious about it many decades later! Born in South Yorkshire I now live in Northumberland, having studied in Newcastle I loved the area so much I stayed".

As a painter and printmaker Lindsey is lucky to live in Hexham where access to both the countryside and the coast, and therefore a never ending source of inspiration, is a short drive away.

She paints in acrylics on canvas, sea and the coastline being a favourite subject that she returns to again and again.
