World of James Herriot 25th Anniversary Celebration Dinner

The World of James Herriot visitor attraction opened in 1999 so this year we are celebrating 25 years and have a special ‘Black-Tie Dinner’ planned for Saturday 5th October 2024 at The Garden Rooms at Tennants, Leyburn. The event will bring together a range of entertainment, James Herriot’s son and daughter, some of Channel 5’s The Yorkshire Vet team, plus special guests.

Tenor Seán Ruane has trod the operatic stage for a number of years, his breathtaking vocal artistry comes with an endearing, easy going style that has allowed him to grace grand opera, TV and sporting arenas with ease. Equally at home performing in front of the cognoscenti of Covent Garden or fervent football fans at Wembley, Seán has worked all over Europe, the United States, Russia, Australia and New Zealand since making his professional debut in 2001, Opera Holland Park was his very first professional engagement in Manon Lescaut in 2001 and he has returned many summers since.
York String Quartet
The York String Quartet is a highly professional, experienced quartet which specialises in providing elegant string music of the highest quality.
The players are all professional musicians who are established chamber music and orchestral players. All of the quartet members have spent many years playing across Europe with the top British orchestras, such as The Philharmonia, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, English National Opera, and of course, the Orchestra of Opera North.
