Copper & Turquoise: A display by The Beadworkers Guild
30th January - 1st March
On view in a cabinet on the Upper Gallery, will be a dazzling display of beadwork by The Beadworkers Guild. ‘Copper & Turquoise’ is a body of work created by the Guild’s members, to showcase what can be created with a simple needle, thread and a variety of beads. On display will be a dazzling array of jewellery and 3D projects, with both simple and intricate pieces. Alongside pieces from their annual colour theme project will be winning pieces from the Guild’s Members’ Annual Challenge, which have only ever been displayed at trade shows before.
Free Demonstration Days
Visitors are also very welcome to drop in on one of our free demonstration sessions, which will be held from 10am to 3pm on:
5th February
12th February
26th February
The sessions will be run by Karen Gibson-Brown, a local bead tutor and volunteer trustee of The Beadworkers Guild, a registered charity dedicated to supporting and promoting the art of bead weaving to bead workers and bead artists from around the world. Karen will be on hand to demonstrate this intricate craft, and share her beading knowledge, hints, and tips.
