The Language of Flowers Exhibition by Richmond & Leyburn Creative Stitchers
19th November – 18th December 2025
The Garden Rooms at Tennants is delighted to welcome back Richmond and Leyburn Creative Stitchers, for an exhibition of their work from a recent collaboration with the Harlow Carr Library in Harrogate - display of embroidered flowers. Using images from the Lindley Library collections, the stitchers have created a wonderful series of delicate, detailed embroideries they tell the story of the popular 19th century craze, the Language of Flowers, a code used by lovers to exchange messages.

RHS Harlow Carr Library has enjoyed a rich collaboration with the group since 2016. Their other embroidery projects include a series of tiled interpretations of RHS Garden Harlow Carr across the seasons, highlight the beauty of the botanical world, which have been much admired.
